Most Popular Botox Injection Areas

Forehead â€‹

Horizontal forehead creases are considered one of the first signs of aging. Botox works to relax the muscles that cause these wrinkles to form.

Brows

Often called the "11'" lines, glabellar frown lines between the eyebrows can make you seem tired, angry or upset. Botox relaxes these muscles and makes it harder to pull your inner eyebrows down, softening or erasing these vertical frown lines.

Eyes and Crows Feet

Crow's feet or smile lines are small lines that extend from the corners of your eyes when you smile or laugh. Botox works to reduce the visibility of crow’s feet by relaxing the muscles that surround the corners of the eyes. This can also lift the lateral brow opening up the eye.

Chin

When the mentalis muscle of the chin contracts it can cause excessive dimpling or a pebbly orange peel appearance of the chin. Botox is a great way to relax lines and dimples in the chin caused by over active muscles resulting in a smoother chin.

Lips and Mouth

Vertical lip lines, lipstick lines, or smoker's lines - Even if you never smoked you still can develop fine lines around the mouth from pursing your lips, aging, or sun damage.  In this area, Botox is often combined with hyaluronic-acid based dermal filler improve wrinkles around the mouth

Jawline and Masseter

Jawline slimming with Botox reduces a prominent or asymmetric jawline by weakening the masseter muscle which can become enlarged from chewing or when the teeth are clenched while sleeping. Weakening the master muscle reduces its bulk without having a major impact on biting or chewing.

Nose and Bunny Lines

Bunny lines are the fine lines that appear on either side of your upper nose when you smile, laugh, or scrunch up your nose. Treating the nasalis muscle with Botox help to soften and get rid of these bunny lines.

Neck band or cords

Platysma muscle bands of the neck treated with Botox relax and become less visible. Botox can also relax the platysma muscles at the jawline, creating a neck lift.

Is Botox Right For Me?

Long does Botox take to work?

Expect to start seeing results 3-5 days after treatment with maximal effect talking 10-14 days.

How long does Botox last?

Botox treatments usually last about four to five months. The effect wears off gradually. With long term use of Botox, patients maybe able to space out their treatments as they subconsciously learn not to use the treated muscles.

What is the recovery time after Botox injections?

Patients can return to normal activity the same day. Often patients come during their lunch break and return to work immediately.  Patients are asked to refrain from strenuous activity or exercise until the following day.

Does Botox hurt?

We use one of the smallest, highest quality needles on the market. Thinner than a human hair, these smaller needles are near painless, bruise less, and cause less tissue damage and swelling. These smaller needles tend to be slightly more expensive, but we think its worth it.

At what age should I start Botox ?

Most people decide to investigate Botox in their 30's and 40's when they start to see fine lines and wrinkles setting in. It's becoming more popular for people in there 20s to start preventative Botox before wrinkles permanently damage the skin. Wrinkles develop from repetitive movement of the skin, by inhibiting or weakening muscle movement early, deep lines and etched in lines are prevented from developing in the future.

How does Botox work?

Botox is a natural protein produced by clostridium botulinum bacteria. In very low doses, Botox is a type of neurotoxin which blocks the transmission of nerve impulses when injected into that muscle. This temporally weakens the muscle and relaxes the overlying skin improving wrinkles and lines. The effects of Botox ore typically limited to a small area around the injection site.

Is Botox Safe?

Botox has been FDA approved since 2002. During this time it has proven to be extremity safe for both cosmetic and non-cosmetic treatments.

How many units of Botox will I need?

The strength of your facial muscles plays a large part in how many units of Botox you will need. Men generally tend to have stronger facial muscles and tend to require more. We customize an individualize treatment plan for each patient according to treatment goals, strength of facial expressions, gender, and past Botox use.

How much does Botox Cost?

The price of Botox varies depending on your individual needs and treatment area.

Will I be charged for touch-ups?

Touch up treatments are complimentary if done within two weeks of your initial botox treatment.

When is the best time to get Botox before an event?

Planning a wedding? Attending the Oscars? Botox works great to combat squinting on a bright summer day or the paparazzi flashbulbs on the red carpet. If you are getting Botox for the first time, we definitely suggest that you do a "trial run" three to four months before the big day giving you ample time to wear off if you don't like the look. If you've had Botox in the past, we recommend a touch up two to four weeks before the big day.

Can men get Botox?

Some patients may benefit from something other than Botox or filler, such as facelift or blepharoplasty, which may offer a longer lasting or more dramatic result. Also known as BroTox.

What's the difference between Botox and filler?

While botox relaxes muscles to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Restlyne are used to "fill in" or "plump" areas of volume loss. Common filler treatment areas include restoring volume to the cheeks, under eyes, lips, chin, or jaw line.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are very similar in that they help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing the underlying muscles beneath the skin. Both Botox and Dysport have the same active ingredient botulinum toxin A and overall same safety profile. There are some slight differences however, Dysport spreads to wider area and may take less time before seeing results. Typically, Dysport starts to work in 2-5 days compared to 5-7 days with Botox. These differences are not really enough to make a huge impact on which product you choose, it’s always best to speak to your plastic surgeon about which product is best for you.
